When measuring the importance of the energy sector in a country’s nonfinancial business economy total (Graph 1), and among the 21 Member States with data available, Slovakia was the most specialised – in terms of both value added and employment – with the industry representing 14.8 % and 3.4% respectively of its non-financial business economy. By contrast, in terms of value added, the least specialised was the Netherlands, where the industry represented 1.5 % of its non-financial business economy.
